Distance from Nairobi to Sirimon Gate is 195km, and after lunch at Sirimon Gate, you will start the trek to Old Moses Camp, a distance of nine kilometers that take about three to four hours passing through forest of indigenous trees like podocapus trees, douglass fire, red cinder, pine, and then through bamboo and finally to the heath part arriving at the Old Moses Hut at around 2:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.

In the evening, a guide will take you further up for a short distance up to 3,600 meters and then descend back to the hut for dinner and overnight. At the altitude of 3,600 meters, you are completely out of the heath and shrub part to savanna moorland, and here you will be able to see the Laikipia Plateau clearly. Laikipia Plateau is the largest plateau surrounding Mount Kenya.

After early breakfast at 6:00 a.m, you will ascend further higher up to 4,001 meters to the viewpoint of the highest peak of Mount Kenya. Here, you will have a magnificent view of Likii Valley and the highest twin peak Batian at 5,199 meters and Nelion at 5,188 meters before you descend back to Old Moses Camp for lunch as you prepare for a return trek back to Sirimon Gate where you will meet your transfer vehicle back to Nairobi.
